ARC stands for Architectural Review Committee. It is a committee of the board, but made up of property owners. It is responsible for keeping continuity in the look/feel of the neighborhood. As such, It reviews all building plans from the initial house build to changes to the exterior of the house or property.
To contact the ARC send an email to the board (YonahMountainLake@ gmail.com). The secretary will then forward it to the correct person.
Your initial email should be responded to / acknowledged within 24-248 hours, but could take a week if the volunteers are away.
If you are submitting building plans, it could take up to a month to get final approval. The ARC tries to be transparent during this time, letting you know of concerns they are working through etc.
Most structural requirements are contained with the covenants, which can be found on this website under the YML Owners Documents. Sections 3 and 4 pertain specifically to building requirements, including design, size, and color standards. However, it is recommend to read the entire document at least once to become familiar with all community requirements.
In addition to what you will find there, the ARC has additional requirements.
Rock siding: The 10% the street facing siding which must be stone, block or brick, must also not be painted or stained
Colors: The ARC is not permitting black, white or gray as the primary color for homes. This is in keeping with the community in harmony with natural surroundings.
Minimum Footprint: This requirement is mentioned in the covenants, the ARC wants to point out this the footprint of the living space, not the total square footage of the living space.
